EAST BELITUNG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting community sports development across its operational areas. One of these efforts was realized through assistance to improve the training facilities and infrastructure of Laskar Belitung Timur Archery Club (LBTAC) on Tuesday (June 30, 2026).
The assistance provided by PT TIMAH will be used to upgrade the club’s archery training facilities, allowing athletes, aspiring athletes, coaches, and support staff to train in a more comfortable and conducive environment.
LBTAC Chairman, Mathur Noviansyah, said the support serves as an important boost for the club in strengthening the development of archery athletes in East Belitung.
“This assistance will be used to improve our training facilities so that our athletes and aspiring athletes can train under better conditions. One of our priorities is to build a sheltered station where athletes can rest during training sessions,” he said.
According to Mathur, adequate facilities will make training more effective and contribute to improving the athletes’ performance and skills.
He explained that since the establishment of LBTAC, PT TIMAH has consistently supported the development of archery in East Belitung.
“This assistance means a great deal to us. As a growing club, our ability to provide the necessary facilities is still limited. PT TIMAH has always been there to support us, playing a significant role in improving both the quality of our athletes and the achievements of archery in East Belitung,” he said.
Mathur even described PT TIMAH as more than just a company providing assistance, but as a strategic partner in the club’s athlete development efforts.
“For us, PT TIMAH is not merely a donor—it has become like a patron. The support we receive has enabled us to continue developing our athletes to this day,” he added.
He hopes the partnership will continue, including through support for hosting a national-level archery championship in East Belitung.
According to him, sporting events not only help improve athletes’ performance but also stimulate tourism, the creative economy, and create opportunities for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“I hope that in the future PT TIMAH will not only continue supporting us through facility improvements but also help bring a national-level archery championship to East Belitung. Such an event would provide tremendous benefits for the region while giving local athletes greater opportunities to grow and compete,” he added.
Currently, LBTAC has approximately 50 members, most of whom are students, with regular training sessions held twice a week.
Echoing the same sentiment, LBTAC Secretary and Coach Eko Subrata expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s support for the development of archery.
According to him, the assistance will create a more comfortable training environment, allowing athletes to practice with greater focus and effectiveness.
“We are truly grateful for PT TIMAH’s support. Better facilities will certainly help improve our athletes’ competencies and motivate them to continue striving for excellence. We sincerely thank PT TIMAH for its commitment to supporting the development of archery,” he concluded. (*)
