KARIMUN -- The availability of facilities that support religious and community activities is essential in providing services to residents. Therefore, PT TIMAH Tbk continues to assist in providing facilities that can be widely utilized by the community.
As part of its commitment to implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, PT TIMAH has once again provided assistance to Nurul Jami' Mosque in Perayun Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency, in the form of a tent that will be used to support various community and social activities.
The Head of Nurul Jami' Mosque, Masrul, said the assistance is greatly needed by the community, especially to support funeral services, which have long been constrained by the lack of a dedicated tent.
"In the past, whenever there was a funeral procession, we had to borrow a tent from others. Sometimes we even had to make do with tarpaulins. This tent assistance is extremely helpful because it fulfills a need that we have hoped to address for a long time," he said.
According to him, the tent will be managed by the Perayun Village Public Cemetery (TPU), which operates under the management of Nurul Jami' Mosque.
In addition to being used during funeral processions, the tent can also be utilized in the future to assist grieving families at funeral homes and for other community social activities.
"We are very grateful for this assistance. The availability of this facility provides tangible benefits to the community. We hope the company's contributions will continue to be felt by the people of Perayun Village," he said.
Masrul added that this is not the first assistance received by Nurul Jami' Mosque. Previously, PT TIMAH also helped fund the construction of the mosque's parking area, which continues to be used by worshippers and community members.
According to him, the various forms of assistance provided demonstrate the company's concern for the needs of communities in its operational areas.
