KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, through its Kundur Area Division, organized a fire safety education and awareness program for students of TK Negeri Bina Permata in Perayun Village, North Kundur District, Karimun Regency, on Wednesday (June 17, 2026).
Dozens of kindergarten students enthusiastically participated in the interactive and engaging activity. During the program, the children were educated about the dangers of playing with fire, which can lead to fires, and were introduced to various types of equipment used in fire prevention and firefighting efforts.
The students also had the opportunity to see firefighting equipment firsthand, ranging from portable fire extinguishers (APAR) to fire trucks commonly used in emergency situations. This experience provided a unique and exciting learning opportunity, allowing the children to better understand the functions and operation of safety equipment.
The educational activity is part of PT TIMAH’s ongoing efforts to increase public awareness and understanding of safety and fire prevention, including among children.
Marniati, Principal of TK Negeri Bina Permata Perayun, expressed her appreciation to PT TIMAH for providing the opportunity and support for the students to participate in the educational program.
“We would like to thank PT TIMAH for its support and for making this activity possible. It serves as an important introduction and early education for children about the dangers of playing with fire, which can cause fires,” she said.
According to Marniati, the activity provided a different and more engaging learning experience because the students not only received theoretical explanations but were also able to observe firefighting equipment directly.
“The children were able to see and become familiar with the equipment used to handle fires, from portable fire extinguishers to fire trucks. We hope this activity will broaden their knowledge and understanding,” she said.
Through this educational program, PT TIMAH hopes to instill awareness of the importance of safety from an early age and equip children with basic knowledge about fire hazards and fire prevention measures. (*)
