WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the creativity and potential of the younger generation by contributing to the 2026 Bujang Dayang West Bangka Grand Final.
As part of its support, PT TIMAH provided the use of the Majapahit Hall in Mentok, West Bangka Regency, for the annual event organized by the West Bangka Regency Office of Culture and Tourism on Thursday evening (June 25, 2026).
The Bujang Dayang competition serves as a platform for young people to develop their skills, build self-confidence, and take on the role of ambassadors promoting the tourism, culture, and development potential of West Bangka Regency.
The event was attended by members of the West Bangka Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), sponsor representatives, as well as the families and supporters of the finalists.
Head of the West Bangka Regency Office of Culture and Tourism, Fakhriansah, said that the selected Bujang and Dayang play an important role in promoting West Bangka, not only its tourism sector but also various regional development programs.
"They will become the face of West Bangka in various promotional activities at both the regional and provincial levels. Over the past several years, West Bangka representatives have also represented the Bangka Belitung Islands Province at the national level," he said.
Fakhriansah expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's consistent support of various regional government initiatives, particularly those focused on youth development.
He noted that PT TIMAH had previously supported Ade Fatimah, Indonesia's Regional Autonomy Princess, who represented West Bangka at the national level.
"Amid the current financial challenges faced by the regional government, we truly appreciate PT TIMAH for its continuous support. Tonight, PT TIMAH has once again supported the Bujang Dayang West Bangka event. We sincerely thank the company for its contribution to the younger generation and the West Bangka Regency Government. We hope this strong partnership will continue," he said.
Similarly, West Bangka Deputy Regent H. Yus Derahman expressed his hope that the newly selected Bujang and Dayang would become young leaders who actively contribute to regional development.
"Developing West Bangka is not solely the responsibility of the government, but of the entire community, including its younger generation. We hope the Bujang and Dayang will play an active role in promoting the region and supporting its development," he said.
"We also extend our appreciation to the organizing committee and all sponsors who contributed to the success of this event, especially PT TIMAH, which has consistently supported various programs of the West Bangka Regency Government, including providing Majapahit Hall as the venue for this event," he added.
At the 2026 Bujang Dayang West Bangka Grand Final, Khairul Azam, representing Mentok District, was crowned Bujang West Bangka 2026, while Anindya Regita Arini, representing Parittiga District, was named Dayang West Bangka 2026. (*)
